The Mission (1986)
Watched for my Ethics in International Relations class. First time watching a movie with a Ennio Morricone score (or, more likely, the first time I noticed that the score for a movie was done by Morricone)--incredible!!!!!

I'm sort of surprised that I had never seen this before but I'm also glad I waited this long. It's good to know that feeling lost after college is not particular to me or my generation. Unfortunately, I have loved Dustin Hoffman in every movie I've ever seen him in (thinking of the Dustin Hoffman, Leonard Cohen, Al Pacino meme). I love Simon and Garfunkel. Anyways. Really good.
My mom has been begging me to watch this for years. I got about 1/4 of the way through a few months ago, but I decided to actually watch it. It's great. Cher looks so good. It's a little silly and the pacing is wacky but it's fun to throw on, I think. I also think everybody wants an Italian American love story.... I desperately need to live in NYC STAT!!
