Read this pretty quick. I love Rilke. Need to reread. Sometimes his work goes a lil over my head. Always a sucker for poetry/songwriting that walks the line between being romantic and religious.
Read this (mainly listened) for a book club I just joined. Not my thing at all. It was sorta fun in the sense that it took very little brain power to get through and could be listened to while scanning things at work--the equivalent of a show you put on in the background while you're studying. Not all bad, but reminded me of a CW show.
So so so awesome. Unfortunately, many of the performances fell flat for me (Charlize Theron! And sometimes Anne Hathaway and even Matt Damon.) Such a visually stunning film. I have embarrassingly never read the epic, so I need to get on that ASAP. I have never expected myself to care much about Greek myth or anything like that (because I sorta hate fantasy and the like), but I had such a great time watching this. Run time was perfect imo
I was a bit conflicted about this one after finishing it. I think I enjoyed it overall, though. The absurdity of Cronenberg's dialogue and characters is always so fun and interesting, even if the storyline is kinda horrific. I love Viggo Mortensen. Everybody who played a teenager in this film looked at least 30 years old. William Hurt's performance was great. I love the Criterion cover art.
Watched with a friend the night before I caught a flight home from Bulgaria. Didn't love it, but it was fun. It's no surprise that Meryl Streep is one of the best actresses alive, but it's embarassingly obvious next to Anne Hathaway... also why are they all speaking so much Italian likeee don't pmo. The little intern was everything to me though
